Our Mission
• Develops a program that assists teachers and students in building and strengthening skills that support phonemic awareness for articulation, language and literacy proficiency, competence, and self esteem.
• Designs curricula that is more flexible and accommodating of students with diverse needs and abilities. Beyond providing access for individuals with disabilities, the FONEMZ program features will benefit whole class populations, small group reinforcement activities, as well as intense individual instruction.
• Produces more widespread usability, considering the needs of all students and teachers at the design stage by building in features that support full accessibility. It will incorporate features that maximize not only access to information, and equally important, access to learning.
Three learning design principles guide the design of these flexible curricula with the embedding of options that support differences in teachers and learners:
•To support teachers and learners by providing flexible methods of presentation.
•To support learners by providing multiple, flexible methods of expression, engagement, autonomy and choice.
•To support effective learning by providing multiple, flexible options for social interaction.
